Moving Day at the EPT Turku Open did not lack excitement. The morning greeted us with perfect disc golf weather and though the gallery may not have been as massive as the previous day, the turnup was still good. We got to witness something truly extraordinary—a live ace on Disc Golf Stream! Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste blew our minds with a forehand Double Skip Ace on hole 14. In the FPO division, the action started off a bit slow, but it quickly picked up momentum. Rachel Turton continued to dominate, shooting a solid round of -1 and confidently leading the pack with a total score of -2. Hot on her heels is Olivia Kindstedt, just one stroke behind at +1. Jenni Karppinen is third and she pulled off an incredible eagle on hole 17, securing her spot on the lead card with a total score of +2. Tinja Väisänen also made the cut, showcasing her skills with a total score of +3.
In the MPO division, this time we didn’t witness mind-boggling highlights but the scores were still off the charts! Jesse Nieminen shot a hot round of -11 round, bringing his total score to -21 and putting him in a tie for the lead with Kristian Kuoksa. Kristian also played great sinking in long putts and shooting a round of -10! Joining them on the lead card are Lauri Hämäläinen, shooting a bogey free round of -10, and Mikael Häme, who turned up the heat at just the right time.

The Course
Luolavuori Disc Golf Park is an 18-hole predominantly meadow-based course located near the center of Turku (modified in 2020). Covering an area of 19 hectares, the course features a variety of elevation changes. The occasional dense foliage provides challenges and adds variety to the open meadow fairways. The highest point of the course stands at 66 meters above sea level, offering stunning views overlooking Turku.

Recap of Tyyni Open:
The Tyyni Open was an absolute blast, filled with great disc golf action and impressive scores. The weather was variable in traditional Tyyni fashion but that did not slow the players down. Rachel Turton showed off her skills and dominated the FPO division, finishing with a total score of -4! Heidi Laine also brought her A-game, securing second place with a solid score of -1. Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste, fought hard and clinched third place with a score of E. On the MPO side, Lauri Lehtinen was a force to be reckoned with, taking home the victory for the second year in a row at Tyyni. With a remarkable total score of -24, he showed why he’s a force in the disc golf world. Jesse Nieminen put up an incredible fight, finishing in a strong second place with a score of -21. Mikael Häme came in third place with a score of -20.
