The Belgian Open, the second stop of the 2023 European Pro Tour, kicked off today under the warm Belgian sun in Parc du Bourdon with Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste and Otto Mäkinen in the lead after day one. The narrow wooded fairways provided plenty of challenges for the players and the Birdie Blueprint tips by our commentators proved to be worthwhile to follow. The players especially showcased their putting skills, delivering some awesome highlight putts with Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste sinking in a long one on hole 5 and Kristian Kuoksa also making some great putts. With the players now in top form for the competition, stay tuned on moving day to see who will emerge as the frontrunners.

First Round FPO Results

 🇫🇮 Heidi Laine, 🇦🇹 Laura Posch, 🇪🇪 Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste and 🇫🇮 Jenni Karppinen kicked off the action for the Feature Card. Anneli was on fire today, making some great putts and shooting Par overall. Heidi Laine also played well shooting +3 and taking second place after the first day. Anneli and Heidi will be joined by Laura Posch and Kaire Tekku for moving day. Laura and Kaire both shot a score of +8.

First Round MPO Results

Otto Mäkinen continued his strong performance from the Copenhagen Open, shooting a hot round of -9 and taking the lead after day one. Otto will be joined by Kristian Kuoksa (-8), Teemu Talikainen (-8) and Silver Lätt (-7) for moving day.

The Feature Card showcased 🇫🇮 Elias Luukkonen, 🇳🇴 Morten Brenna, 🇫🇮 Kristian Kuoksa, 🇧🇪 Maxime Tanghe. Kristian and Maxime set the pace on the Feature Card by sinking long putts and executing textbook drives. Kristian stayed consistent with some great disc golf shooting a score of -8. Maxime played very well but took some unfortunate bogies on the last holes ending up with a score of -6. Morten Brenna shot a score of -3 and Elias Luukkonen ended with a score of +3. 

The Course

The course Parc Du Bourdon has a total length of 2374m and features long and narrow wooded fairways with multiple par 4s. Transportation to the course is a breeze, with various options available either taking a train, hoping on a bus, or driving yourself.

Located in the picturesque town of Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, this event not only offers high quality disc golf but also charming surroundings. Braine-l’Alleud is situated just south of Brussels, the vibrant capital city of Belgium. The town is renowned for its rich history and stunning architecture, providing a captivating backdrop for the Belgian Open. Braine-l’Alleud is known for its beautiful landscapes, with lush green fields, rolling hills, and quaint countryside. The proximity to Brussels, only 20 minutes away, allows visitors to easily explore the attractions, cultural landmarks, and the culinary scene the capital has to offer.

The EPT Copenhagen Open concluded with an exhilarating final day filled with impressive performances. Kaidi Allsalu continued her dominance in the FPO division, capturing the win with a superb round of +3 and a total score of +12. In the closely contested MPO division, Mauri Villmann emerged as the victor after a thrilling sudden-death playoff against Samuel Hänninen, showcasing nerves of steel and exceptional skill. The competition was filled with memorable moments, remarkable putts, and intense battles.
